Climbing Snowdon For Brain Tumour Research

My Story

In August, I will be climbing Snowdon to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity. My husband Stephen asked if I would be willing to join him, as he is taking on the challenge for a cause that is very personal to him. I had no hesitation in saying yes, as raising money for charity is always a worthwhile endeavour. When deciding which charity to support, one that focuses on brain tumour research and care immediately came to mind.

Sadly, in 2023, I knew two people who were diagnosed with glioblastoma, the most aggressive form of brain tumour, and both lost their battle within months. One was the husband of my friend and colleague. They had only recently married, making his passing especially heartbreaking. The other was a solicitor I worked closely with in my profession of block management. He had only just turned 40 before his passing, which made his loss just as tragic. Both were fantastic individuals, taken far too soon. Brain tumours are a devastating disease, and more research is needed to improve treatments and outcomes for those affected. By taking on this challenge, I hope to raise funds and awareness to support this vital cause.
